Acceptance
These terms cover visits to ledgerlexlanguagestudio.net and engagements with LedgerLex Language Studio started by email. By using the site or asking us to quote or deliver work, you accept these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or send work.
Services
We provide financial language work: translation, revision, and related desk services for funds, listed reporting, IPO, and investor relations, among other financial text. Scope for each job is set in the email thread or a short written brief.
Quotes are indicative until we confirm scope, deadline, and fee in writing. Website copy is information about the desk, not a standing offer to the public at large.
Intellectual property
Site content (copy, layout, and branding) belongs to LedgerLex Language Studio unless stated otherwise. You may not copy it for commercial reuse without our written consent.
Client source materials remain the client’s. Deliverables from an engagement are licensed or assigned as we agree for that job. Until fee is paid in full where payment is due, we may withhold final files.
Confidentiality
We treat client files and briefings as confidential and keep them inside the desk workflow. NDAs are available on request before files move. You agree not to share our non public rates, methods, or internal notes without our consent.
Quotes, fees, and payment
A rate card is available on request. Fees for a job are confirmed before we start billable work, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
As stated on the homepage, a short pilot on a live job may carry no fee for that pilot slice, so you can feel the house voice before a larger engagement. That courtesy does not extend to inventing other free services. Payment terms for paid work are set in the quote or invoice.
Limitation of liability
We work with care expected of a specialist financial language desk. The site and desk output are provided as is for professional use. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or for decisions you make solely on the basis of a translation or website text.
Where liability cannot be excluded under Hong Kong law, our aggregate liability for a given engagement is limited to the fees you paid us for that engagement. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence where the law forbids that limit.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The courts of Hong Kong have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from the site or from an engagement under these terms.
Changes to terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms. For open engagements, material changes will be flagged by email where practical.
